Marvel’s ‘The Punisher’ Gets A Teaser Trailer

by Dave Elliott

If you’ve binge watched your way through ‘The Defenders’, you may have caught this already as it was tagged onto the end of the series, but Marvel’s ‘The Punisher’ has gotten itself a little teaser trailer!

After exacting revenge on those responsible for the death of his wife and children, Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) uncovers a conspiracy that runs far deeper than New York’s criminal underworld. Now known throughout the city as The Punisher, he must discover the truth about injustices that affect more than his family alone.

The Punisher first showed up in ‘Daredevil’ Season 2, but became a huge hit with fans, leading Marvel to spin the character out into his own show. Keeping the connective tissue to ‘Daredevil’ will be Deborah Ann Woll as reporter Karen Page. “Frank has a soft spot in Karen’s heart, and certainly with the dark history that Karen has,” says Woll. “There are very few people she can share her authentic self with. Frank is someone who she could potentially fully open up to.”

The new cast includes Ben Barnes (‘The Chronicles of Narnia’, ‘Dorian Gray’) as Castle’s best friend from his special forces days, who now runs Anvil, a private military corporation. Ebon Moss-Bachrach (‘The Last Ship’, ‘Girls’) takes the role of Micro, a former NSA analyst who assists Frank, and Amber Rose Revah (‘Indian Summers’, ‘Foyle’s War’) plays Homeland Security Agent Dinah Madani.

Whilst Netflix hasn’t confirmed the exact air date for ‘The Punisher’ yet, we’re expecting it to land around November 2017.
