Another day, another pick up for Netflix! This time it’s the hilarious comedy series ‘The Good Place‘ starring Kristen Bell and Ted Danson, which will stream on to the service from Thursday, 21st September 2017.
‘The Good Place’ stars Kristen Bell (‘House of Lies’, ‘Veronica Mars’) as Eleanor Shellstrop, an ordinary woman who enters the afterlife and, thanks to some kind of error, is sent to the Good Place instead of the Bad Place, which is definitely where she belongs. While hiding in plain sight from Michael (Ted Danson – ‘CSI’, ‘Cheers’), the wise architect of the Good Place (who doesn’t know he’s made a mistake), she’s determined to shed her old way of living and discover the awesome (or, at least, the pretty good) person within.
I was fortunate enough to catch the entire first season of ‘The Good Place’ on a flight to the US recently (thanks, Virgin Atlantic!), and thought it was one of the best half hour comedies I’d seen in a long time. Although, that should be no great surprise, given it comes from Michael Schur, co-creator of ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ and ‘Parks and Recreation’.
Given Netflix are airing the show from 21st Sept, I have a sneaking suspicion they will add the whole of seasons 1 and then add season 2 weekly, as that’s the day after the show’s 2nd season premieres in the US on NBC.
UPDATE: Season 2 will be added weekly from 21st September, as we suspected!
‘The Good Place‘ Season 1 & 2 will come to Netflix UK from Thursday, 21st September 2017.
