Katee Sackhoff Joins Flash/Arrow In Villain Role

‘Battlestar Galactica’ and ‘Longmire’ star Katee Sackhoff has landed a recurring role on The Flash next season it has been announced.

Sackhoff will take on the role of Amunet Black, also known as Blacksmith, the hardcore boss of an underground black market for supervillains. She’ll first pop up in season 4 episode 5, which is titled “Girls Night Out”. Interestingly, this will also feature a guest appearance from ‘Arrow’s’ Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards).

The character of Blacksmith was created by Geoff Johns and Ethan Van Sciver and first appeared in 2001 story ‘Flash: Iron Heights’. The comic book version has the ability to merge metal with flesh and shape it to her will, has been involved with The Rogues, and was married to Hunter Zolomon (Zoom) at one point. As we know, the tv show tends to play around with the origins of characters, so it’s not clear how much of that background will make it to screen.

Along with playing Starbuck in the 2004 ‘Battlestar Galactica’ and Deputy Sheriff Victoria Moretti in ‘Longmire’, Sackhoff has also appeared in ’24’‘Nip/Tuck’, ‘Bionic Woman’, and voiced characters in ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ and for ‘Robot Chicken’.

As we reported a few weeks ago, this season’s ‘big bad’ is going to be Clifford DeVoe aka The Thinker, played by ‘The 100’s’ Neil Sandilands, which will pitch the fastest mind alive against the fastest man alive. Team Flash is also getting an extra stretchy pair of helping hands this season in the form of hero Elongated Man, played by Hartley Sawyer (‘The Young and the Restless’, Suburgatory’).

‘The Flash’ Season 4, along with all the other DC shows, comes to Sky 1 in Autumn 2017.
