FOX UK has picked up the UK premiere rights to Seth MacFarlane’s The Orville it has been announced today.

Set 400 years in the future, the live-action comedy-drama follows the adventures of the Orville, a not-so-top-of-the-line exploratory ship in Earth’s interstellar fleet. Facing cosmic challenges from without and within, this motley crew of space explorers will boldly go where no comedic drama has gone before.

Actor and ‘Family Guy’ creator Seth MacFarlane takes the lead as pilot Ed Mercer, who is joined by ‘Agents Of Shield’s’ Adrianne Palicki who plays his ex-wife. Penny Johnson, Scott Grimes, Peter Macon, J Lee, Mark Jackson, Chad L. Coleman also star.

This marks the third new US show to be picked up post the LA Screenings, where international buyers pick and choose which US shows they would like to take home. It joins X-Men drama ‘The Gifted’ also coming to FOX UK, and ‘The Good Doctor’ from ‘House’ creator David Shore which comes to Sky Living.

FOX UK has yet to announced the air date for The Orville, but we expect it to be soon.
