Fox UK Picks Up X-Men Drama ‘The Gifted’. Sets October UK Premiere Date.

Fox UK has picked up the UK broadcast rights to Marvel’s X-Men drama The Gifted they have announced today, and it will get its UK premiere on Sunday, 8th October 2017 at 9pm.

Set within the Fox/Marvel ‘X-Men’ universe, ‘The Gifted’ tells the story of a suburban couple whose ordinary lives are rocked by the sudden discovery that their teenage children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family seeks help from an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive.

The series stars Stephen Moyer (‘Shots Fired’, ‘True Blood’), Amy Acker (‘Person of Interest’, ‘Angel’), Natalie Alyn Lind (‘Gotham’) and Percy Hynes White (‘Night at the Museum 3’) as the Strucker family. Also starring in the series are Sean Teale (‘Reign’) as Eclipse/Marcos Diaz; Jamie Chung (‘Gotham’) as Blink/Clarice Fong aka Clarice Ferguson; Emma Dumont (‘Aquarius’) as Polaris/Lorna Dane; Blair Redford (‘Satisfaction’) as Thunderbird/John Proudstar; and Coby Bell (‘Burn Notice’) as Sentinel Services Agent Jace Turner.

“Exploring an all-new corner of the X-Men Universe,‘The Gifted’ introduces an exciting new generation of mutants, as they struggle to come to terms with their powers,” comments Toby Etheridge, Head of Programming, Fox Networks Group UK. “On the run from a hostile government that tracks down mutants,‘The Gifted’ portrays one family’s battle for survival and what it means to be different.‘The Gifted’ is a hugely entertaining drama express from the U.S., that viewers will love.”

Matt Nix (‘Burn Notice’) serves as the series’ showrunner and wrote the pilot, which was directed by the ‘X-Men’ franchise’s Bryan Singer.

‘The Gifted’ will sit nicely along side Marvel’s other X-Men related TV series, ‘Legion’, which also airs exclusively on Fox UK.

The Gifted‘ will premiere in the UK on Sunday, 8th October 2017 at 9pm, only on Fox.
