ITV Gets ‘Cold Feet’ Again. Renewed For 8th Season
This probably doesn’t come as a huge shock given its ratings, but ITV has commissioned an 8th Season of the critically acclaimed comedy-drama ‘Cold Feet‘, the broadcaster announced today.
Produced by Big Talk Productions, and written and created by Mike Bullen, ‘Cold Feet’ stars James Nesbitt, Hermione Norris, Robert Bathurst, Fay Ripley and John Thomson as the nation’s favourite ‘fifty something’ friends as we follow their lives in Manchester.
“The nation’s love affair with Cold Feet continues, and we’re thrilled to announce a new series for 2018,” comments ITV’s Senior Drama Commissioner Victoria Fea. “Mike Bullen’s honest depiction of enduring friendship has a very special place in the audience’s affections.”
The series is currently celebrating its 20th anniversary after a triumphant return to ITV screens in September 2016. The returning series was one of the channel’s most successful drama launches of 2016, with the latest series, screened in a new Friday slot, achieving a consolidated average of 5.1 million and a 21.3% audience share.
The new six-part (6 x 60’) series will go into production next spring in Manchester for broadcast later in 2018 on ITV.
“It was a real privilege for Big Talk to be entrusted with the revival of Cold Feet, a show we were all huge fans and admirers of,” adds Executive Producer and CEO of Big Talk Productions Kenton Allen. “So we are absolutely thrilled to be making a third series of this iconic show, following the amazing reaction to the last series. Mike has just delivered the first script of the new series and…all will be revealed in 2018.”
Cold Feet is produced for ITV by Big Talk Productions, one of the UK’s leading film and television production companies. Mike Bullen will executive produce the series, alongside Big Talk’s Kenton Allen and Matthew Justice. ITV Studios Global Entertainment is responsible for distributing Cold Feet internationally.
‘Cold Feet‘ Season 8 is expected to air in Autumn 2018.
