Breckin Meyer Lands Recurring Role In ‘Designated Survivor’

President Kirkman will be getting a little brother later in Season 2 of Designated Survivor.

‘Designated Survivor’ stars Kiefer Sutherland as Tom Kirkman, a lower-level cabinet member who is suddenly appointed President of the United States after a catastrophic attack on the US Capitol during the State of the Union. Kirkman struggles to keep the country and his own family from falling apart whilst navigating the highly-volatile political arena.

Breckin Meyer has been cast as Trey Kirkman, younger sibling to Tom. Although he has a successful career in finance, Trey is rather more free-spirited than his older brother. He’s smart, outgoing, and has been estranged from Tom in recent years, but they end up reconnecting as Trey becomes confidant and counsellor to his older brother, especially helping to give perspective in personal matters.

Meyer is a well-known face on US tv and film, having played Jared Franklin in ‘Franklin & Bash’ opposite Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Jon in the ‘Garfield’ movies, and appearing in films such as ‘Road Trip’ and ‘Clueless’. He also created the sitcom ‘Men At Work’, and works a lot with Seth Green, providing voices for ‘Robot Chicken’, and the duo have just wrapped on new comedy-drama ‘Changeland’.

Designated Survivor‘ Season 2 is currently airing weekly, every Thursday on Netflix UK.
