‘Avengers: Infinity War’ New Trailer Is EPIC!

by Dave Elliott

Marvel has just released a brand new trailer for ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, which give us our first real look at the movie, and it’s EPIC!

Infinity War is the first time we’ve seen all the Marvel characters crossover in one movie. Iron Man, Spider-man, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, Black Panther, Guardians Of The Galaxy, Captain America (or rather Steve Rogers, who may or may not be Captain America…), Ant-Man, Doctor Strange, Winter Soldier, Scarlet Witch, Vision, Loki, Falcon… plus, I suspect, a number of others who can’t be seen in the trailer… But then, you need everybody’s help when you are facing the might of Thanos!

Marvel has been building the arrival of Thanos ever since he first appeared in ‘The Avengers’ mid-credits scene. As we know, he’s after the Infinity Gems/Stones to place in the Infinity Gauntlet. Not because he like snazzy jewellery, but because each Gem grants its bearer complete mastery over one aspect of the multiverse: Time, Space, Mind, Soul, Reality, and Power.

This doesn’t bode well for any of our heroes, as we know they know the location of the stones or have them in their possession. As we see in the trailer, it would seem Loki is, once again, in possession of The Tesseract (aka the ‘Space Stone’). The Reality Stone (aka Aether) was left with the Collector in ‘Thor: The Dark World’. The Power Stone was taken by the Guardians of the Galaxy from Ronan and given to the Nova Corps for safe keeping. The Time Stone sits in the Eye of Agamotto pendant which Doctor Strange returned to Kamar-Taj at the end of the film. The Mind Stone is a particular… headache… for Vision, as it’s currently embedded in his noggin, and is the thing which allows him to live. The only gem we haven’t seen yet is the Soul Stone, so it’s possible that may appear in ‘Black Panther’.

We do see in the trailer that Thanos has the Space and Power Stones in the Infinity Gauntlet, and looks to be extracting the Mind Stone from poor old Vision… I’m guessing not all our Avengers will be making it out of this one alive…

‘Avengers: Infinity War’ is released in UK cinemas on the 27th April 2018.
