‘Luke Cage‘ returns for his 2nd Season on Friday, 22nd June 2018, and it is looking like he has finally met someone who could equal our bulletproof hero.
After clearing his name, Luke Cage (Mike Colter) has become a celebrity on the streets of Harlem with a reputation as bulletproof as his skin. But being so visible has only increased his need to protect the community and find the limits of who he can and can’t save. With the rise of a formidable new foe, Luke is forced to confront the fine line that separates a hero from a villain.
The trailer also includes appearances from returning cast Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, Alfre Woodard as Mariah Dillard, Ron Cephas Jones as Bobby Fish and Simone Missick as Misty Knight – complete this year with her bionic prosthetic arm.
New cast this time around includes Mustafa Shakir (‘The Deuce’, ‘The Night Of’) as John McIver, described as “a natural leader, brimming with charisma, whose mission is focused on Harlem and vengeance.” Also joining is Gabrielle Dennis (‘Insecure’, ‘Rosewood’) as Tilda Johnson, a brilliant, holistic doctor with a complicated history in Harlem where, as much as she tries to stay far from trouble, it seems to always find her.
There is also an interesting new addition behind the camera this season too as Lucy Liu directs the premiere episode titled “Soul Brother #1”. Liu has previously directed a number of ‘Elementary’ episodes, in which she also stars, along with a few other shows and short films, but this is probably her highest-profile directorial outing yet.
