‘Suits’ Season 8 Comes To Netflix UK In July 2018
We know some people were upset when ‘Suits‘ made the move on to Netflix in the UK, but the one big advantage is that it airs the day after the US, meaning we get Harvey, Donna, and Louis nearly all year round!
Season 8 will be the first season without Patrick J. Adams as Mike and Meghan Markle as Rachel (after she decided to leave the show to marry some former soldier…) What we do have though is the addition of ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ star Katherine Heigl playing Samantha Wheeler, a talented new partner at Pearson Specter Litt who challenges the status quo and will either become the firm’s greatest ally or most powerful enemy.
Out of the existing cast, Dulé Hill, who joined the show in Season 7 as recurring character Alex Williams, has been upped to series regular in Season 8, along with Amanda Schull, who plays Katrina Bennett, who has also been promoted this year. Sarah Rafferty (Donna), Rick Hoffman (Louis) and, of course, Gabriel Macht (Harvey) are all back for the new season.
The dramatic conclusion of Season 7 saw Mike and Rachel finally marry and head off to Seattle to run a new firm specialising in class-action lawsuits. Meanwhile, Specter Litt was left with the prospect of a hostile merger from Rand, Kaldor & Zane, the firm run by Rachel’s father, which would have left Harvey and Louis in the minority at their own firm. When Louis confronts Robert Zane about the bid, he had no idea it was happening and realises his partners, Rand and Kaldor, are doing it behind his back. In an effort to make sure Harvey and Louis retain control of the company they make a deal with Robert to join them as a named partner, bringing with him enough of his senior partners to have a majority in any vote.
We can see the outcome of all this backstabbing and manoeuvring when ‘Suits‘ Season 8 Comes To Netflix UK on Thursday, 19th July 2018.
