US network Starz has released a little teaser trailer for the much-anticipated return of ‘Outlander‘ for it’s 4th Season, which will premiere in November 2018.
‘Outlander’ follows the story of Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe), a married combat nurse from 1945 who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743, where she is immediately thrown into an unknown world where her life is threatened. When she is forced to marry Jamie (Sam Heughan), a chivalrous and romantic young Scottish warrior, a passionate affair is ignited that tears Claire’s heart between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives. The series is adapted from Diana Gabaldon’s international best-selling books and exec produced by Ronald D. Moore.
The duo has been put through a lot in the first 3 seasons. Jamie being imprisoned. Claire suspected of being a spy. Torture by the sadistic “Black Jack” Randall. The doomed Jacobite uprising and the Battle of Culloden. A pregnant Claire separated by time from the love of her life, and stuck in a marriage with Frank. Believing Jamie to be dead, then discovering he’s alive, but returning to find him remarried. Adventures on the high seas, and finally being shipwrecked in Georgia.
Season 4 will follow ‘Drums Of Autumn’, the 4th book in Diana Gabaldon’s novel series. Claire, Jamie, and Jamie’s nephew Young Ian, find themselves in colonial North Carolina under the patronage of Governor Tryon (Tim Downie – ‘Upstart Crow’, ‘Toast of London’). With the help of Jamie’s Aunt Jocasta (Maria Doyle Kennedy – ‘Orphan Black’, ‘Dexter’), last of his MacKenzie kin, who owns a slave-run plantation, they find mountain land and begin to build their first cabin. However, they are distracted by thoughts of Brianna (Sophie Skelton), the daughter Claire has left behind, and who Jamie has never met.
New cast this season include Billy Boyd (‘Lord Of The Rings’ trilogy) who will play Gerald Forbes, a wealthy lawyer in Cross Creek who is friends with his prominent client, Jocasta; Simona Brown (‘Kiss Me First’), who plays Gayle, best friend and college roommate of Brianna Fraser; Natalie Simpson (‘Les Misérables’) stars as Phaedre, personal maid and seamstress to Jocasta Cameron, and a trusted member of the River Run household; And newcomer Caitlin O’Ryan joins the show as Lizzie Wemyss, a Scottish woman who goes on a big adventure with Brianna.
