Netflix Sci-fi ‘Another Life’ Adds Tyler Hoechlin, Samuel Anderson, Justin Chatwin & Elizabeth Faith Ludlow

Netflix’s upcoming sci-fi drama Another Life has been heavily mining genre tv to find it’s cast as it adds Tyler Hoechlin, Samuel Anderson, Justin Chatwin & Elizabeth Faith Ludlow to the show.

‘Another Life‘ sees astronaut Niko Breckenridge (Katee Sackhoff – ‘Battlestar Galactica’) leads a crew on a mission to explore the genesis of an alien artefact. As she and her young crew investigate, they face unimaginable danger on what might very well be a one-way mission.

Tyler Hoechlin is set to play ‘Ian Yerxa,’ the former commander of The Salvare space explorations ship, who loses the post to Niko. Hoechlin previously starred in ‘Teen Wolf’ and more recently has been popping up in the Arrowverse as Supergirl’s more famous cousin, Superman.

Samuel Anderson takes the role of ‘William,” a holographic interface of a sentient A.I. Neither a futuristic Tin Man, nor a robot who pines to be human, William is a new form of life with the knowledge of all humanity at his disposal. Anderson most recently starred in Channel 4 series ‘Loaded’, and the Sky One comedy ‘Trollied’. He will be well known to ‘Doctor Who’ fans though as Danny Pink, boyfriend to Clara.

Justin Chatwin stars as ‘Erik Wallace,’ part of the United States Interstellar Command, dedicated to finding intelligent life out in the universe and husband of Commander Niko Breckenridge. Chatwin previously starred in ‘Shameless US’, ‘Orphan Black’, ‘Weeds’ and ‘American Gothic’.

Elizabeth Faith Ludlow joins the cast as ‘Cas Isakovic,’ Niko’s second-in-command and staunchest ally, filled with courage and moral conviction. Ludlow popped up in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2’, and can be seen in the upcoming film ‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’. However, she is probably best known for her role as Mona in ‘Satisfaction’ and Savior Arat in ‘The Walking Dead’.

The four newcomers will join Sackhoff and the previously announced Selma Blair (‘American Crime Story’, ‘Cruel Intentions’) who plays 21st-century media influencer Harper Glass, who uses journalism, social media and keen intelligence in an attempt to break one of the biggest stories in human history.

It’s also been announced that prolific television director Omar Madha will direct the first two episodes of the 10-episode series. Madha’s previous work includes ‘The 100’, ‘Scorpion’, ‘Grimm’, and ’24: Live Another Day’.

Another Life comes from creator/showrunner Aaron Martin (‘Slasher’, ‘Saving Hope’, ‘Degrassi: The Next Generation’) and producer Noreen Halpern (‘Alias Grace’) through her Halfire Entertainment shingle, both of whom are executive producing. Netflix hasn’t released an air date for the sci-fi drama yet, but we’ll let you know when we hear something.
