DC Universe Reveals New ‘Titans’ Character Posters & More About The Service

Yesterday, DC’s new streaming service held a live stream on Facebook of their new ‘DC Daily’ show, hosted by our beloved geek god, Kevin Smith, revealing a bunch of new info about DC Universe, and the upcoming Titans series… Before you ask, the one thing they haven’t yet revealed is when the service will be launched outside of the USA…

DC Universe will launch in the US on Batman Day (aka September 15th) in the US, with ‘Titans’ launching on the service on October 12, 2018. They also announced Warner Bros Television will host a world premiere screening of ‘Titans’ on October 3, 2018, in conjunction with New York Comic Con. In addition to that, they have also released a bunch of new character photos of Robin (Brenton Thwaites), Starfire (Anna Diop), Raven (Teagan Croft) and Beast Boy (Ryan Potter), which you can see below.

Written and produced by Akiva Goldsman (‘Star Trek: Discovery’, ‘The Dark Tower’, ‘Fringe’), DC God Geoff Johns (‘The Flash’, ‘Arrow’) and the Arrowverse’s Greg Berlanti, the tv series centres around Dick Grayson, aka Batman’s partner, Robin. After years as part of the Dynamic Duo, Dick struggled to find his place outside the Dark Knight’s shadow. Finally striking out as his own man, he emerges as a leader, mentor and father figure to his new family, the Titans.

Along with ‘Titans’, another new show coming to DC Universe is the animated series ‘Young Justice: Outsiders’, although that won’t land until 2019. You will, however, be able (if you’re in the US) to watch the first two seasons of the original ‘Young Justice’ animated series from launch day. They also dropped this little clip of the new ‘Young Justice: Outsiders’ series to help whet your appetite!

On the comic book side, they’ve announced the first appearances of Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman will be available to read at launch on the streaming service. Additionally, many other fan favourites will be available including Batman: Gothic, The Authority series, Green Arrow: Year One, Shazam, The New Teen Titans, Identity Crisis, The Batman Adventures, Jack Kirby’s New Gods, and many more DC classics.

Lastly, they announced the regular guests and co-host who will be joining Kevin Smith on ‘DC Daily’ include Samm Levine, actor, host and comedian known for his first breakout role as a member of the “geek” half of the acclaimed, landmark series ‘Freaks and Geeks’; Sam Humphries, comic book writer and photographer who is currently authoring Harley Quinn; Clarke Wolfe, popular correspondent for Nerdist, Collider, Syfy, has become one of the most prominent female voices within the nerd and geek culture space; Markeia McCarty, actress, improviser, journalist and host of DC Movie News; Harley Quinn Smith, actress, comic fan and, of course, daughter of Kevin Smith; And lastly, the legend that is John Barrowman, known to DC fans from TV shows including ‘Arrow’, ‘DC’s Legends of Tomorrow’ and ‘Doctor Who’. He also wrote the Dark Archer comic book series.

DC Universe will launch on September 15th in the US at a price point of $7.99 per month or $74.99 annually… Now we just need them to sort out the UK launch date so we can get access to these awesome looking shows on this side of the pond! We’ll let you know as soon as we hear something.
