‘The Good Place’ Renewed For Season 4

Great forking news! The Good Place has been renewed for a 4th Season US network NBC has confirmed.

If you’ve listened to any of the Geektown Radio podcasts, or read previous posts on the site, you know, here at Geektown, we are massive fans of this critically acclaimed comedy series. ‘The Good Place’ started out following the newly deceased Eleanor Shellstrop (Kristen Bell), who has been sent to “The Good Place” after her death… but only by clerical error. Eleanor is supposed to be in “The Bad Place”, but is determined to become a better person and earn her spot in this pleasant afterlife.

However, unlike many sitcoms, the show has massively evolved over the course of 3 Seasons… Which makes it somewhat difficult to talk about without giving away spoilers! We will say that Eleanor finds herself teaming up with Michael (Ted Danson), Chidi (William Jackson Harper), Tahani (Jameela Jamil), Jason (Manny Jacinto), and Janet (D’Arcy Carden) as they navigate their way around the afterlife, trying to make sure they can make it in “The Good Place”.

“Congratulations to Mike Schur and an exceptional cast and crew, all of whom collaborate to create a thoughtful, mind-bending and hysterical series unlike anything else on television,” commented Tracey Pakosta and Lisa Katz, Co-Presidents, Scripted Programming, NBC Entertainment. “We can’t wait to see what unexpected stories the new season will bring.”

Season 3 of The Good Place is currently on mid-season break, but returns to Netflix on Friday, 11th January 2019. For those of you without access to the streaming service, Season 1 of the comedy will begin airing on E4 from Thursday, 13th December 2018 at 9pm. I strongly encourage you to go and watch, as it’s one of the funniest and most original comedies in recent years.
