‘Black Lightning’ Reveals First Look At China Anne McClain As Lightning

It’s taken a season and a half to get here, but Black Lightning has finally revealed China Anne McClain’s full outfit for Jennifer’s “Lightning” alter-ego.

‘Black Lightning’ stars Cress Williams as Jefferson Pierce – Former Olympic athlete, respected educator and a father of two… and also “Black Lightning”, superpowered protector of Freeland with the ability to sense and harness electricity. In Season 1 we were introduced to “Thunder”, Jefferson’s oldest daughter Anissa (Nafessa Williams), who has the ability to drastically increase her density, giving her invulnerability and super strength for as long as she can hold her breath.

Younger daughter Jennifer (McClain) had also exhibited powers, and her body generates pure electrical energy and she possesses the potential to be more powerful than Anissa or Jefferson. Up until now, she’s had some issues controlling her abilities, but it would seem all that is about to change, as she gets her own super suit, and codename – “Lightning” (not exactly original, but I guess it works!)

It would seem likely that Gambi (James Remar) is the man responsible for Jennifer’s happening new spandex. However, I can’t imagine that both her daughters joining their father’s superteam is going to sit well with their mother, Lynn (Christine Adams).

Black Lightning is currently on it’s mid-season holiday break in the US but returns to Netflix UK for Season 2, part 2, on Tuesday, 22nd January 2019.
