‘The Grand Tour’ Renewed For Tent-less Season 4 As Trio Ditch The Studio Format

Amazon has announced that, following the release of Season 3 in January 2019, The Grand Tour will be back for a 4th Season, but with some big changes.

The current format sees Clarkson, Hammond & May present the show from a large tent situated in the Cotswolds, with the usual reports in fast (and not so fast) cars from exotic locations. Season 4 will see the trio ditch the traditional studio format entirely after 17yrs, and move to something more in line with the old ‘Top Gear’ specials.

“We’re excited to announce that we have renewed ‘The Grand Tour’ for season 4, and proud that Amazon Video will continue to be the home of Jeremy, Richard and James for years to come,” commented Amazon in a statement. “Season four will see the guys ditch the tent to take on big adventure road trips that we know Prime members love.”

In addition to the news of “Season 4”, which will be released as specials throughout the year, Amazon also announced they are working with Clarkson, Hammond & May on new individual solo projects for the streaming service. “They’ve got some ambitious new ideas that Prime members are going to love,” said Jay Marine, vice president of Prime Video. “We’re excited to be bringing more Clarkson, Hammond and May to Prime Video for years to come.”

The Grand Tour‘ Season 3 premieres Friday, 18th January 2019 on Amazon Prime. And if anyone is after a large marquee, I think I know where you can buy one, second hand…
