‘Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina’ Renewed For 16 More Episodes By Netflix
Netflix has picked up ‘Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina‘ for an additional 16 episodes the streaming service has announced today.
‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’ imagines the origin and adventures of Sabrina the Teenage Witch as a dark coming-of-age story that traffics in horror, the occult and, of course, witchcraft. Tonally in the vein of Rosemary’s Baby and The Exorcist, this adaptation finds Sabrina wrestling to reconcile her dual nature – half-witch, half-mortal – while standing against the evil forces that threaten her, her family and the daylight world humans inhabit.
This latest pick up is in addition to the already aired 10 episode Season 1, plus the Christmas Special, and the previously announced Season 2, which will consist of another 10 episodes. This is, technically, a Season 3 pick up, although it will be split into “Part 3” and “Part 4”.
The series stars Kiernan Shipka as Sabrina with Miranda Otto and Lucy Davis playing her aunts, and Ross Lynch as her boyfriend, Harvey Kinkle. The series also includes Jaz Sinclair (‘The Vampire Diaries’) as Sabrina’s best friend Rosalind Walker, with Chance Perdomo playing Sabrina’s warlock cousin from England. Richard Coyle (‘Hard Sun’, ‘The Fall’, ‘Coupling’) stars as Father Blackwood, High Priest of the Church of Night and Dean of the Academy of the Unseen Arts. Finally, Michelle Gomez (‘Doctor Who’) is set to play Mary Wardell, Sabrina’s favourite teacher… who unfortunately becomes possessed by the devil’s handmaiden, Madam Satan!
The Christmas special introduced ‘Buffy’ & ‘Angel’ star Alexis Denisof as Adam Masters, the boyfriend of Mary Wardwell. Handsome and charming, Adam returns to Greendale after a stint overseas working with Physicians Without Frontiers – unaware that his fiancé has been taken over by the demoness Madam Satan. Jedidiah Goodacre (‘The Originals’, ‘The 100’) also joins the cast in Season 2 in the recurring guest role of warlock Dorian Gray.

Season 1 of ‘Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina‘ and the Christmas Special are available on Netflix right now, with Season 2 due to drop on Friday, 5th April 2019.
