It’s season 8 of TVD that you will be waiting for seeing as it’s the last season of the show. There will be no season 9. I think you can watch the show online anywhere that’s legal. As for The Originals, season 4 doesn’t start until next month on the 17th so we have a little bit longer to wait

I would argue that nothing is ever ‘locked’ on Netflix until you actually see it appear on your account. ;) But yes, Netflix are currently telling me Season 7 should land on the 1st Dec. :)

Yep, as we say regularly, air dates aren’t locked till 2 weeks before broadcast, but originally they had said next Jan. They now have it penciled in for next month, so hopefully it stays there. :)

I suspect that it won’t be appearing on U.K. Netflix until the show returns to the UK and that won’t be happening until the beginning of 2017. I’m only guessing because I don’t use Netflix so I could be wrong

Have watched every episode for six and half seasons but have given up now as this mid season break has gone on too long. ITV2 shoots itself in the foot, 1st it doesn’t continue with Originals then it treats its viewers like crap over TVD. I give up!

Why do we have to wait for ITV2 to stop procrastinating in showing the rest of season 7 of TVD? abolish so called christmas or mid-season breaks, cause by the time they start showing it again most of us have forgotten whats happened, or at least missed out on the all important context & nuances of the inter-twined story & its characters. call this a service ITV2!, i meen what else is worth watching on this channel….. nothing.

It’s more than likely ending in season eight no point in taking it further without Damon as its about the two brothers and Julie pec said she would consider taking some of the actors to the originals.
I’ve read a lot of articles about TVD this week and Ian did confirm himself that season 8 would be the last season. A few hours later, Ian commented again that he didn’t mean to say that but it does look like it could actually be the last season. It was definitely confirmed to be the last season. It doesn’t help that Kat Graham is hoping to leave when season 8 ends as well. it just looks like season 8 could actually be the last considering another actress is leaving at the end of it

I haven’t got any news about when the second half of TVD will be back but I thought you would all like to know that TVD has been renewed for an eighth season. I read on facebook that The CW had renewed TVD for another season and they have also renewed The Originals for season 4 as well. I hope this has helped

To be honest most shows have been struggling to play on most channels, the UK seems less interested in buying the rights to other shows and more interested ij keeping TV slots open for reality TV which is literally taking over the media. I wouldn’t be surprised if ITV2 stops it half way through season 7?

I have just read that Vampire Diaries won’t be back until late Spring (May / June?!). Why are ITV doing this? This, in my opinion is the only good show on ITV at the moment. Please can you tell me why they have done this?
No specific reason as far as we know, other than to remove any gaps created by the US schedule, and possibly move it out of the way of the deluge of shows that are returning over the next few weeks.

I know that there is a 75% chance for another season but I’m a little bit worried about this season considering the date to return has been changed to Spring so I am definitely getting a bit worried for season 7 right now. Is there a chance that TVD will be cancelled midseason or do you think it’s still in the safe bracket because of the high chance of another season. Is it just taking a while to return because other shows are being shown on itv2 in its time slot?
Ah well, 2 separate issues/questions there.
1. Will TVD be renewed?
The renewal percentage is based on whether the show will be made, not on what channel will show it in the UK. So whether ITV2 pick it up or not, or shoves it on at 11pm etc… has no bearing on the renewal. That’s entirely reliant on how it performs on The CW in the US, who are the channel that pay for it to be made. International sales usually have very little effect on a show.
2. Is there a chance that TVD won’t be picked up for the 2nd half of this season on ITV2?
There’s always a chance, but it seems more likely ITV2 are just a bit late bringing it back this year… One of the things that has me thinking it’s still coming is that, if you look on Amazon Video, you can buy all of season 3 (up to the US air date) of The Originals which makes me think Syfy dropped it. But season 7 of TVD is held at eps 8 where we left it on ITV2, which would imply it’s returning to UK broadcast tv or I would have thought they would have added the missing episodes.
EDIT: Response from ITV is ‘yes they have it’, and it’ll be ‘late spring’. I know that’s probably not entirely what you want to hear, but at least it’s returning!

Thanks. I’m probably annoying you with all of the questions that i keep asking. So it sounds like TVD will definitely return to finish season 7 because of what you said about no more episodes appearing for season 7 because it’s being held at ep 8 so it will return at some point. It’s just taking a while for the show to return because other shows are being shown in the time slot for TVD. Also TVD season 7 isn’t going to be left unfinished is it because even though it’s sort of starting to go down hill, they won’t just leave a tv show unfinished in the middle of a season would they?… Considering that it’s still popular. Wouldn’t they finish the season and then if it was going to be cancelled, they would wait until they had finished the current season wouldn’t they?

If you are getting this anxious over then return date of a god damn TV show then I suggest you seek help. I got really excited because as I was scrolling down the list, I didn’t see TVD at the top underneath February and I got excited thinking that the show had been confirmed for a date to return and then I scrolled down further and noticed that actually TVD had been moved to the Spring bit. I’m really hoping the show gets a date soon because it’s just taking ages for it to return

I don’t think The Originals season 3 is going to be aired in the UK. It might eventually be aired in the UK if no channel has picked the show up since Syfy dropped it to show other tv shows. If you want to watch it, you’ll have to watch it online.

I wouldn’t worry too much, i’d say it’s still safe and only just in the 75% bracket. It’s just more an indication of The Originals being more safe than TVD, but I suspect it’ll still get a renewal. There’s at least 3 shows (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Reign and Jane the Virgin) on CW which are on dodgier ground than TVD too, so that also helps. :)

I was nit happy when i checked this page this morning and noticed at the bottom of the page that the renewal for TVD season 8 had been changed from definitely going to be renewed to having a 75% chance of renewal. Well I read that Julie would be happy to continue with TVD as long as Ian and Paul are happy to continue with the show. I haven’t read anything saying that they are leaving so fingers crossed we will get another season. Guess we will have to wait and see now that our chances of getting another season are getting slimmer but in a way, if the show does finish, at least we have The Originals which seems to be doing well. Guess we will have to wait and see
What is it with itv2 they are late putting vampire diaries season 7 on the time is rediculous at 11 pm and have no idea when the second part starts I’m pretty sure we are way behind the U.S they can put it on Think it’s time a different tv channel took over the programme cos itv2 are not loyal to its viewers and stick rubbish on instead
The show will return sometime this month. It’s probably be back in two weeks or towards the end of the month but it will be back.
We’re actually not. It only came back 29 January in the US, so I would expect it back at some point in late Feb/early March as it’s usually a few weeks behind to remove scheduling gaps.

Not sure why it’s not on AGAIN! ITV2 have been awful with it this year. I’m actually hoping they don’t get it next year and it goes to a different channel that doesn’t mess us around. Have checked and Series 6 episode 18 (the next one) is on next Wed (3rd June).
