Big Little Lies‘ Season 2 will get it’s UK premiere in June, as Sky Atlantic announced the drama will simulcast with the US premiere on HBO.

Told through the eyes of three mothers – Madeline, Celeste and Jane – Big Little Lies paints a picture of a town fueled by rumours and divided into the haves and have-nots, exposing the conflicts, secrets and betrayals that compromise relationships between husbands and wives, parents and children, and friends and neighbours.

The 2nd season of this subversive, darkly comedic drama continues to explore the malignancy of lies, the durability of friendships, the fragility of marriage and the vicious ferocity of sound parenting. Relationships will fray, loyalties will erode… the potential for emotional and bodily injury shall loom.

The Monterey Five – Madeline (Reese Witherspoon), Celeste (Nicole Kidman), Jane (Shailene Woodley), Renata (Laura Dern) and Bonnie (Zoë Kravitz) – are joined by Celeste’s visiting mother-in-law, Mary Louise (Meryl Streep), and their husbands, Ed (Adam Scott), Nathan (James Tupper) and Gordon (Jeffrey Nordling), in this seven-episode season.

Based on the New York Times number-one bestseller of the same name by Liane Moriarty, the series is created by David E. Kelley, with teleplays by Kelley and story by Kelley and Moriarty. The drama is directed by Andrea Arnold and exec produced by Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, David E. Kelley, Andrea Arnold, Jean-Marc Vallée, Bruna Papandrea, Per Saari, Gregg Fienberg, Nathan Ross and Liane Moriarty.

Big Little Lies‘ Season 2 premieres in the UK on Monday, 10th June 2019 at 2am, with a repeat at 9pm on Sky Atlantic.
