‘This Is Us’ Star Sterling K. Brown Joins ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ In Season 3

‘This Is Us’ star Sterling K. Brown is stepping back in time to join The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ in its 3rd Season the actor announced on his Instagram feed today.

For those of you worried about his ‘This Is Us’ character Randall, don’t panic, he’s not going anywhere (as far as we know). Brown just likes to keep busy, and his ‘Maisel’ part will shoot during the ‘This Is Us’ summer break. This is another project to add to the pile of 4 movies he is also in this year, plus he also recently launched his own production company, Indian Meadows. As we said, the man likes to keep busy!

The hilarious ‘Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ follows Rachel Brosnahan (‘House of Cards’) as Miriam “Midge” Maisel, a 1958 New York City woman who had everything she’d ever wanted – the perfect husband, two kids, and an elegant Upper West Side apartment perfect for hosting Yom Kippur dinner. But her perfect life suddenly took an unexpected turn and Midge discovers a previously unknown talent – one that changes her life forever. She charts a course that takes her from her comfortable life on Riverside Drive, through the basket houses and nightclubs of Greenwich Village as she storms the world of stand-up comedy… a course that will ultimately lead her to a spot on Johnny Carson’s couch.

Brown commented in the video (you can watch below) saying “I’m going to do a little TV show… maybe you’ve heard of it… The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel! The Palladino’s [creators Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino] were kind enough to write a little something for your boy, and I said yes. So stay tuned. I’m getting together with Midge, and it’s gonna be awesome!”

Along with Brosnahan, Brown will be joining Tony Shalhoub (‘Monk’) who plays Midge’s father Abe Weissman, Alex Borstein (‘Family Guy’) as Susie Myerson, Michael Zegen (‘Boardwalk Empire’) as Midge’s husband Joel Maisel, Marin Hinkle (‘Two and a Half Men’) as Midge’s mother Rose Weissman.

The show comes from ‘Gilmore Girls’ creators Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino, and if you are fans of that series, I urge you to seek out ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ on Amazon, as it has the same glorious writing.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel‘ Seasons 1 and 2 are available on Amazon Prime UK right now.
