CBS Renews ‘Bull’, ‘S.W.A.T.’, ‘MacGyver’, ‘Madam Secretary’, ‘SEAL Team’ & ‘Hawaii Five-O’
US network CBS has handed out a string of renewals this evening which will see ‘Bull‘ return for Season 4, ‘S.W.A.T.‘ back for Season 3, ‘MacGyver‘ for Season 4, ‘Madam Secretary‘ for Season 6, ‘SEAL Team‘ for Season 3 and ‘Hawaii Five-O‘ for Season 10.
‘SEAL Team’ is a military drama that follows the professional and personal lives of the most elite unit of Navy SEALs as they train for, plan and execute the most dangerous missions that our country can ask of them. David Boreanaz (‘Angel’, ‘Bones’) stars as Jason Hayes, the respected, intense leader of the Tier One team.
Inspired by the television series and the feature film, ‘S.W.A.T.’ stars Shemar Moore (‘Criminal Minds’) as a locally born and raised S.W.A.T. sergeant newly tasked to run a specialized tactical unit that is the last stop in law enforcement in Los Angeles. Torn between loyalty to where he was raised and allegiance to his brothers in blue, former Marine Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson has everything it takes to be an excellent leader and bridge the divide between his two worlds.
‘Madam Secretary’ stars Téa Leoni as Elizabeth McCord, the shrewd, determined secretary of state who drives international diplomacy and circumvents protocol as she negotiates global and domestic issues, both at the White House and at home.
‘Bull’ is the head of one of the most prolific trial-consulting firms of all time. Brilliant, brash and charming, Dr. Bull is the ultimate puppet master as he combines psychology, human intuition and high-tech data to learn what makes jurors, attorneys, witnesses and the accused tick. Ex-NCIS star Michael Weatherly takes the titular role.
‘Hawaii Five-O’ is a contemporary take on the classic series about an elite federalized task force whose mission is to wipe out the crime that washes up on the islands’ sun-drenched beaches. Alex O’Loughlin, Scott Caan, Jorge Garcia, Meaghan Rath, Dennis Chun, Ian Anthony Dale, and Chi McBride star.
‘MacGyver’ is an action-adventure drama about 20-something Angus “Mac” MacGyver, who creates a clandestine organization within the U.S. government, where he uses his extraordinary talent for unconventional problem-solving and his vast scientific knowledge to save lives. Lucas Till stars in the lead role.
They join the previously renewed shows on CBS including ‘Young Sheldon’, ‘Mom’, ‘Criminal Minds’, ‘NCIS’, ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’, ‘NCIS: New Orleans’, and ‘Blue Bloods’, along with freshman series ‘FBI’, ‘God Friended Me’, ‘The Neighborhood’ and ‘Magnum P.I.’
That does still leave things not looking good for ‘The Code’, ‘Murphy Brown’, ‘Happy Together’, ‘FAM’ and ‘Ransom’. Out of those five shows, only ‘Happy Together’ and ‘Ransom’ ever found UK homes, and ‘Ransom’ is actually a Canadian import, so might survive even if CBS opt not to pick it up again. We’ll let you know when we hear anything about their fate.
