‘GLOW’ Season 3 To Premiere In August On Netflix, See The “First Look” Photos
Wrestling comedy ‘GLOW‘ will return for Season 3 in August 2019 Netflix has announced, along with releasing some “first look” images.
Inspired by the real story of the 1980’s female wrestling league, the series, set in Los Angeles and showcasing big hair and body slams, tells the fictionalized story of an out of work actress who finds one last attempt to live her dreams in the form of a weekly series about female wrestlers.
In Season 3, the women are now headliners at the Fan-Tan Hotel and Casino, but quickly realize Sin City is much more grind than glitter. Ever the team cheerleader, Ruth’s passion for the show begins to take a backseat to her growingly complicated personal life. Debbie is making headway as a producer, but continues to be consumed with guilt over the distance between her and her son. As their residency wears on, the lines blur between performance and reality, and the cast find themselves struggling with their own identities both in and outside of the ring.
‘GLOW’ stars Alison Brie (‘Community’, ‘Mad Men’), Betty Gilpin (‘Nurse Jackie’, ‘Fringe’), Sydelle Noel (‘Arrow’, ‘Black Panther’), Britney Young (‘Those Who Can’t’) and Marc Maron (‘The Life & Times of Tim’, ‘Metalocalypse’), and is written by Liz Flahive (‘Homeland’) and Carly Mensch (‘Orange is the New Black’), who also serve as showrunners. Jenji Kohan & Tara Herrmann (‘Orange is the New Black’) are executive producers.
