Sky One has released the trailer for Season 2 of Karl Pilkington’s Sick Of It, which premieres Friday, 10th January 2020 at 10pm with a double bill.

The scripted comedy was written by Karl Pilkington alongside Richard Yee, his long-time producer and director, and follows his character’s attempts to make sense of the modern world after the loss of his girlfriend. Now living with his elderly auntie, Karl’s closest companion is Inner Self; the voice in his head who says what he really thinks without the risk of offending others. As Karl attempts to move on from the breakup and sort out his life, the voice in his head appears periodically to guide, criticise and dispense his unorthodox philosophy of life, with some interesting results!

Season 2 of the comedy will see Karl and his grumpy alter ego return with more helpings of humorous philosophising in another instalment of the critically acclaimed series. After Aunt Norma replaces Karl with a young sparky care worker, it triggers a bout of soul-searching about how little he’s achieved in his life. As Karl attempts to get a new job, earn enough money to move out of Norma’s house, and start dating again, he has to contend with the new carer who not only looks after Norma but begins to take over his life too.

“There’s no one able to express the anxiety and confusion of the modern world with as much wit and humanity as Karl, so it’s a joy to be bringing him and his miserable alter ego back for a second series of Sick of It,” commented co-creator and writer Richard Yee.

Sick Of It’ Season 2 premieres Friday, 10th January 2020 at 10pm on Sky One.
