Disney Plus UK has set a November premiere date for the 7th and final season of Marvel’s ‘Agents of SHIELD‘ it has been announced. The series had previously aired on E4, but the channel opted on to pick up the final season, which left it without a UK broadcaster until now.
If you remember where left our intrepid heroes, Season 6 saw a bit of a change. Coulson was dead. Mack was running the team. Daisy and Simmons were trying to rescue Fitz in dead space, and portals were opening up on Earth, spitting out hostile strangers… one of whom seemed to have Coulson’s face! It turns out that the Chronicoms had decided they wanted to turn the planet into a new homeworld, Chronyca-3… This involved them attacking S.H.I.E.L.D. at different points in its history. Thinking this would probably not be a good idea, the team, with the help of rogue Chronicom Enoch (Joel Stoffer), manage to use the Zephyr to jump back in time. To help them figure out what the Chronicoms will do next, they activate a Life-Model Decoy of Coulson.
As we head into the final season, “Coulson” and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. are thrust backwards in time and stranded in 1931 New York City. With the all-new Zephyr set to time-jump at any moment, the team must hurry to find out exactly what happened. If they fail, it would mean disaster for the past, present and future of the world
‘Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ stars Clark Gregg, Ming-Na Wen, Chloe Bennet, Iain De Caestecker, Elizabeth Henstridge, Henry Simmons, Natalia Cordova-Buckley, and Jeff Ward. The series was co-created by Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen, who also serve as executive producers along with Jeffrey Bell and Jeph Loeb.
‘Agents of SHIELD‘ Season 7 premieres Friday 13th November 2020 on Disney+ UK. Slightly annoyingly, they will only be releasing the first 2 episodes on that date, with the rest coming weekly each Friday… I suspect that is to stop people subscribing or using a free trial to binge it and then turning the streaming service off again. But hey, at least it is actually airing somewhere now!

I’m glad that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D is now a streaming service exclusive. Free-to-air UK channels have an unfortunate history of messing around with US shows. Whether that’s taking ages to actually show them, censoring them to show them before the watershed or numerous other issues. Now I can cut out Channel 4 and watch it straight from the source, a US streaming service.
It’s slightly unfortunate it had to be Disney+ rather than Amazon, as many people in the UK currently regard Disney+ as being a streaming service for children only because of the name. (Agents of S.H.I.E.LD is BBFC 15). Hopefully it can be transferred over to Disney’s new Star streaming service when it launches though.
This is ridiculously annoying. As has been said they have shown all the series so far, so to do this for the last ever series is a disgrace. It really is all about making money!!! It’s Channel 4 again though. Just look at all the messing around with Supernatural. They are a pitiful broadcaster. Absolute rubbish. More interested in pointless TV like all the “reality” rubbish
I agree it’s annoying, although for Channel 4, it is more about not having money than making money… Due to the fact they are totally reliant on advertising, they were hit really hard by the pandemic, and had to make massive cuts. One of the first things which appears to have been cut is expensive US imports on E4. So whilst it really sucks for UK fans who have been watching on E4, I do somewhat understand the issue.
I do agree on the E4 scheduling side of things has been dire for a while, and the do need to sort that out. That is somewhat of a separate issue to the program acquisitions (although, again, it is in part driven by the advertising slump.)
For Disney, it is about making money. They could have opted to dump the entire series as a boxset, but have instead opted to add it weekly to stop people binging it in a month or on a free trial. That is somewhat annoying.
This is just not right I’m sorry but they managed to air six seasons of a hit show and then on the last season expect us to pay for a subscription. It’s all a money making ploy. I have avoided spoilers for nearly half a year to hear this nope might as well just google the ending and get it over with. Not a good move marvel
It is what it is. Just pay for a month. Compare it to renting a movie: worth it. The two finale episodes are really worth it. I’ve cancelled it now I’ve rewatched the lot and also Agent Carter. Lucky enough to have seen latest season already when I was away.
Disclaimer: I totally don’t work for Disney!
