Amazon’s YA Drama ‘The Wilds’ Gets Trailer & December Premiere Date

by Dave Elliott

Amazon has released a trailer for upcoming young adult drama The Wilds which premieres this December on Prime Video.

Part survival drama, part dystopic slumber party, ‘The Wilds’ follows a group of teen girls from different backgrounds who must fight for survival after a plane crash strands them on a deserted island. The castaways both clash and bond as they learn more about each other, the secrets they keep, and the traumas they’ve all endured. There’s just one twist to this thrilling drama… these girls did not end up on this island by accident.

The series stars industry veteran Rachel Griffiths (‘Six Feet Under’, ‘Total Control’), as well as a mix of familiar and fresh faces that include Sophia Ali (‘Grey’s Anatomy’), Shannon Berry (‘Offspring’), Jenna Clause, Reign Edwards (‘Snowfall’, ‘MacGyver’), Mia Healey, Helena Howard (‘Madeline’s Madeline’, ‘Don’t Look Deeper’), Erana James (‘Golden Boy’), Sarah Pidgeon, David Sullivan (‘Sharp Objects’, ‘Argo’), and Troy Winbush (‘The Goldbergs’).

‘The Wilds’ was created by Sarah Streicher (‘Daredevil’) who also serves as exec producer alongside Amy B. Harris (‘Sex and the City’, ‘The Carrie Diaries’), Jamie Tarses (‘Happy Endings’), and Dylan Clark (‘The Batman’, ‘Bird Box’). The series is co-produced by Amazon Studios and ABC Signature, a part of Disney Television Studios.

Interestingly, as part of the series launch, the first episode of the drama will be available to everyone for free, for a limited period, via Amazon Prime Video (without needing a Prime account), along with Amazon’s YouTube, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook, starting at 8am GMT on 11th December until 25th December 2020.

The Wilds‘ Season 1 premieres 11th December 2020 from 8am GMT on Amazon Prime Video UK and in more than 240 territories around the world.
