‘Chucky’ TV Series Picked Up By Sky In The UK, Coming Later In 2021

Sky has confirmed they have picked up the UK broadcast rights to the highly-anticipated Chucky tv series, with a view to airing it later this year.

Based on the popular horror movie franchise, the new tv show sees a vintage ‘Good Guy’ doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, which throws an idyllic American town into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begin to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets. Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies – and allies – from Chucky’s past threatens to expose the truth behind the killings, as well as the demon doll’s untold origins as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this notorious monster.

The series stars Alex Vincent as Andy Barclay, Alyvia Alyn Lind as Lexy Taylor, Barbara Alyn Woods as Michelle Cross, Bjorgvin Arnarson as Devon Lopez, Christine Elise McCarthy as Kyle, Devon Sawa as Logan Wheeler, Fiona Dourif as Nica, Jennifer Tilly as Tiffany Valentine, Teo Briones as Junior Webber, and Zackary Arthur as Jake Webber, with Brad Dourif as the voice of Chucky.

The show is written and created by Don Mancini, who wrote all the original films in the ‘Child’s Play’ universe, and went to write on ‘Hannibal’ and ‘Channel Zero’. Mancini also serves as showrunner and exec produces alongside David Kirschner (‘Hocus Pocus’, ‘Frailty’), and Nick Antosca (‘The Act’, ‘Channel Zero’) via his banner Eat the Cat, through his overall deal with studio UCP, who produce the drama. Emmy-nominated Harley Peyton (‘Twin Peaks’, ‘Channel Zero’) will also serve as executive producer.

There seems to be a bit of confusion floating around about the UK broadcast of the series, as both Don Mancini and Devon Sawa posted on social media the show would be coming next week or the week after… Unfortunately, they’re a little off with their timings. Whilst Sky has picked up the series, the actual broadcast is likely to take a little longer to fit into the schedule. From what I hear, it’s most likely landing in December 2021 on Sky Max, but they are still sorting out the scheduling, so we’ll let you know when we have something confirmed.

All we can say for certain at the moment is that ‘Chucky‘ Season 1 has been confirmed as picked up by Sky, but if you want to keep track of this or any other show, you can add it via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date.
