‘Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol’ Series Gets November UK Premiere On Sky Max
‘Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol‘, the series based on Brown’s international bestselling thriller about famed Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon, will premiere this November in the UK on Sky Max the broadcaster has announced.
Based on Dan Brown’s international bestselling thriller “The Lost Symbol,” the story follows the early adventures of Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon, played by Succession’s Ashley Zukerman, who finds himself pulled into a series of deadly puzzles when his mentor is kidnapped. The CIA forces him onto a task force where he uncovers a chilling conspiracy.
The series uses the 2009 novel ‘The Lost Symbol’ as the basis for the plot, which may have fans of the Langdon book series a bit confused, as this is a prequel featuring a young Robert Langdon, whereas the novel is set after the events of the previous books in the series. Somewhat akin to what Amazon did with ‘Alex Rider’, the tv drama takes the content of the book but alters the timeframe to earlier in Langdon’s life.
Along with Zukerman, the series star ‘Arrow’s Rick Gonzalez as Nunez, a uniformed Capitol policeman, Sumalee Montano (‘Nashville’, ‘Star Wars: Resistance’) as Director of the OS, and Beau Knapp (‘Seven Seconds’, ‘Shots Fired’) as Mal’akh, who takes Langdon on a dangerous and arcane mission. Eddie Izzard plays Peter Solomon, Langdon’s aforementioned kidnapped mentor, and Valorie Curry (‘The Tick’, ‘House of Lies’) plays his daughter, Katherine Solomon.
The series comes from Dan Dworkin and Jay Beattie, co-creators of the ‘Scream’ tv-series and short-lived drama ‘The Crossing’. Dworkin and Beattie exec produce alongside Ron Howard and Brian Grazer, who were behind the Tom Hank’s led ‘Da Vinci Code’ movie franchise, via their Imagine Television Studios. CBS TV Studios and Universal Television co-produce the series.
‘Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol‘ premieres Thursday, 18th November 2021 at 9pm on Sky Max in the UK.
