‘The Big Leap’: Disney+ UK Sets December Premiere For Dance Drama
Disney+ UK has set a December premiere date for FOX drama ‘The Big Leap‘, a modern tale about second chances and chasing one’s dreams.
Inspired by the UK series reality series ‘Big Ballet’, this contemporary dramedy is a tale about second chances, chasing your dreams and taking back what’s yours. The show revolves around a group of diverse underdogs from all different walks of life who compete to be part of a competition reality series that is putting on a modern, hip remake of Swan Lake. What they lack in the traditional dancer body type, they make up for with their edge, wit and desire to reimagine an iconic story to fit their own mould.
The series stars Scott Foley (‘Whiskey Cavalier’, ‘Scandal’) as Nick Blackburn, Simone Recasner (‘Sink Sank Sunk’) as Gabby Lewis, Ser’Darius Blain (‘Charmed’, ‘Jumanji’) as Reggie Sadler, Jon Rudnitsky (‘Catch-22’, ‘SNL’) as Mike Devries, Raymond Cham Jr. (‘Five Points’) as Justin Reyes, Mallory Jansen (‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’) as Monica Suillvan, Kevin Daniels (‘Sirens’, ‘Atypical’) as Wayne Fontaine, Anna Grace Barlow (‘The Goldbergs’, ‘The Young and the Restless’) as Brittney Lovewell, Adam Kaplan (‘Deception’) as Simon Lovewell, Piper Perabo (‘Coyote Ugly’, ‘Turn Up Charlie’) as Paula Clark and Teri Polo (‘Meet the Parents’, ‘The Fosters/Good Trouble’) as Julia Perkins.
The series is created by Liz Heldens (‘Deception’, ‘Friday Night Lights’), who also serves as showrunner and exec producer. Jason Winer and Sue Naegle also exec produce. ‘The Big Leap’ is produced by 20th Television and Fox Entertainment.
‘The Big Leap‘ Season 1 premieres Wednesday, 1st December 2021 on Disney+ UK, with new episodes dropping weekly.
