DC’s Titans returns to the UK this December as Netflix announces the premiere date for Season 3.

‘Titans’ follows Dick Grayson, aka the former Robin (Brenton Thwaites), who emerges from the shadows as Nightwing to lead a band of heroes – including Starfire (Anna Diop), Raven (Teagan Croft), Beast Boy (Ryan Potter) and others. The story follows this group of young heroes as they come of age and find belonging.

Season 3 has our heroes heading to a new location and will see them reunite with old friends and face new threats… Desperate to leave his mark, Jason Todd (Curran Walters) confronts the Joker once and for all. But when fatal consequences ensue, Dick is forced to step away from the Titans and return to Gotham City.

Whilst the circumstances are somewhat remixed in ‘Titans’, those of you who know the comic book, of course, know what awaits Mr. Todd when he confronts Joker… In this version, the tragedy pushed Bruce (Iain Glen) to hang up the cowl, and attempt to pass it over to Dick, asking him to “be a better Batman”. But first, Dick and his friends find themselves dealing with a new villain calling himself “Red Hood”… (I wonder who that could be…)

There are a few other new characters popping up this season too. Savannah Welch (‘The Tree of Life’, ‘Boyhood’) plays Barbara Gordon, who is Gotham’s police commissioner, and Jay Lycurgo (‘I May Destroy You’, ‘Doctors’) is taking the role of Tim Drake, who in the comics, goes on to be Robin #3. ‘Mad Men’ and ‘Angel’ star Vincent Kartheiser takes the role Dr. Jonathan Crane, aka Scarecrow, in this iteration, an Arkham Asylum inmate who offers his services as a profiler and consultant for the GCPD.

Season 3 will also see Joshua Orpin return as Connor/Superboy, Conor Leslie as Donna Troy/Wondergirl, Joshua Orpin as Conner Kent/Superboy, Alan Ritchson as Hank Hall/Hawk and Minka Kelly as Dawn Granger/Dove, along with Damaris Lewis returning as Starfire’s sister, Blackfire.

It was announced back at the DC FanDome event in October that the superhero drama would be returning for a 4th Season. ‘Titans’ is produced by Weed Road Pictures and Berlanti Productions, in association with Warner Bros. Television. Based on the characters from DC, the series was developed by Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns & Greg Berlanti, with Goldsman, Johns, Berlanti, showrunner Greg Walker, Sarah Schechter and Richard Hatem serving as executive producers.

Titans‘ Season 3 premieres Wednesday, 8th December 2021 on Netflix UK as a bingeable boxset.
