The Geektown Radio podcast is back for a new episode, and our film reviewer Gray joins me this week to chat through the last seven days on UK TV, film, and gaming, alongside the usual TV news and UK TV air dates!
As Grey is back, we begin with his monthly ‘Film News’ feature, highlighting his top five film stories from April that you may have missed. He then reviews three movies – ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’, ‘The Lost City’, and gives us his brief thoughts on ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’. Following that, he reviews new(ish) Netflix series ‘Heartstopper’, and chats through ‘Hacks’ Season 1, which is on Prime Video. Meanwhile, I have finished ‘Suspicion’ on Apple TV+, and also talk the ‘SEAL Team’ finale on Sky.
Over in the TV news, we chat through the tv renewals, cancellations and pickups this week, and again, there are quite a lot! After that, we chat through the BAFTA results, and what was criminally overlooked. This brings us neatly to the big news… We have a new Doctor for ‘Doctor Who’! We talk a little about Ncuti Gatwa and get to know a bit more about him. We also talk about NBC’s new time-travel based reboot and a possible new DC show on HBO Max.
