‘Jack Ryan’: Prime Video Series To End On Season 4, But Michael Peña-Led Spin-Off In Development

According to reports, it seems Prime Video series Jack Ryan is going to end with Season 4, however, a potential spin-off series is in development, headlined by Michael Peña. Not to panic though, we’re still some way off the final episode, as Season 3 hasn’t even aired yet!

‘Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan’ stars John Krasinski as the titular character in a reinvention with a modern sensibility of the unexpected Tom Clancy hero. Season 1 centred on Ryan as an up-and-coming CIA analyst who is thrust into a dangerous field assignment for the first time. Season 2 saw the action move to South America as Ryan uncovered a pattern in terrorist communication that launched him into the centre of a dangerous gambit with a new breed of terrorism that threatened destruction on a global scale.

The upcoming Season 3 finds Jack Ryan on the run and in a race against time. Jack is wrongly implicated in a larger conspiracy and suddenly finds himself a fugitive out in the cold. Now, wanted by both the CIA and an international rogue faction that he has uncovered, Jack is forced underground, crisscrossing Europe, trying to stay alive and prevent a massive global conflict.

According to Deadline, who broke the news, the third season will introduce Michael Peña (‘Ant-Man’, ‘Narcos: Mexico’) as Domingo “Ding” Chavez, a character who has appeared across the Clancy-verse franchise. Peña was previously revealed as being cast on the show back in October 2021, but without revealing his character. The plan seems to be to introduce Peña in the final episode of season three before moving him to the main cast in season four. The potential spin-off series is in very early development at the moment.

Along with Krasinski, the third season cast also features the returning cast of Wendell Pierce as James Greer and Michael Kelly as Mike November. They are joined by Betty Gabriel (‘Get Out’), James Cosmo (‘His Dark Materials’), Peter Guinness (‘Cursed’), Nina Hoss (‘Little Sister’) and Alexej Manvelov (‘Before We Die’). Michael Peña (‘Ant-Man’, ‘Narcos: Mexico’) will join the drama full-time in season four.

‘Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan’ is co-produced by Amazon Studios, Paramount Television and Skydance Television and will launch exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. The series is executive produced by Andrew Form, Brad Fuller, Michael Bay, Krasinski and Allyson Seeger, along with Carlton Cuse and Graham Roland, who created the series for television. Additionally, Andrew Bernstein, Vince Calandra, David Graziano, Tom Clancy, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Marcy Ross, Mace Neufeld, Lindsey Springer, Dennie Gordon and Phil Abraham also executive produce the second season of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan.

Jack Ryan‘ Season 3 does not yet have a premiere date on Prime Video but is expected to land later in 2022. If you want to keep track of this or any other show, you can add it via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date.
