EXCLUSIVE: The crew of ‘9-1-1: Lone Star‘ are on the move, as the emergency services drama shifts broadcasters for its 3rd Season in the UK we have learnt.
‘9-1-1: Lone Star’ explores the high-pressure experiences of first responders, including police officers, firefighters and dispatchers, who are thrust into the most frightening, shocking and heart-stopping situations in Texas. These emergency responders must try to balance saving those who are at their most vulnerable with solving the problems in their own lives. The show draws from real-life, high-pressure experiences of first responders who regularly face heart-stopping situations that are often unpredictable, intense and uplifting at the same time.
The first two seasons of the drama aired on Sky Witness in the UK. Whilst the main ‘9-1-1’ show returned to Sky back in February for a fifth season, the third season of the spin-off was curiously missing… I’ve now managed to confirm that Sky no longer has the rights to ‘9-1-1: Lone Star’ and the new season will premiere on Disney+ UK instead.
We don’t yet have a date for exactly when ‘9-1-1: Lone Star’ Season 3 will drop on Disney+ UK, other than it is “coming soon”. Disney, who produces the series under 20th Television, currently only have season one on the streaming service, so my guess would be they are waiting on the rights for season two to be freed up before they drop the third season (a similar delay happened when they took over the rights to the final season of ‘Agents Of SHIELD’ from E4.) What we don’t know at the moment is whether the main ‘9-1-1’ show will also be switching UK broadcasters in due course, or whether that will be retained by Sky Witness. We’ll let you know if we hear more.
‘9-1-1: Lone Star‘ stars Rob Lowe (‘The West Wing’), Brian Michael Smith (‘The L Word: Generation Q’), Ronen Rubinstein (‘Orange Is The New Black’), Sierra McClain (‘Empire’), Julian Works, Jim Parrack (‘True Blood’) and Gina Torres (‘Suits’). The series is created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear. It is produced by 20th Television in association with Ryan Murphy Television and Brad Falchuk Teley-Vision.
We don’t yet have a premiere date for ‘9-1-1: Lone Star‘ Season 3, but it will now premiere on Disney+ in the UK. If you want to keep track of this or any other show, you can add it via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date.
