FOX has announced renewals for three of their ongoing series – ‘9-1-1: Lone Star‘, ‘Call Me Kat‘ & ‘Welcome to Flatch’. Renewals on the main ‘9-1-1’ and ‘The Resident’ are still pending.
‘9-1-1: Lone Star’ explores the high-pressure experiences of first responders, including police officers, firefighters and dispatchers, who are thrust into the most frightening, shocking and heart-stopping situations in Texas. These emergency responders must try to balance saving those who are at their most vulnerable with solving the problems in their own lives. The show draws from real-life, high-pressure experiences of first responders who regularly face heart-stopping situations that are often unpredictable, intense and uplifting at the same time.
The reason this renewal has been announced but the main ‘9-1-1’ (and ‘The Resident’) are still pending is due to ‘Lone Star’ being a newer show. All three series are made by 20th Television, now owned by Disney, making the renewals more complex than when they were made in-house. Both ‘9-1-1’ and ‘The Resident’ are expected to be renewed, but the contracts are taking a little longer to dot the “i’s” and cross the “t’s” due to them being longer-running shows.
As we exclusively announced last week, ‘9-1-1: Lone Star’ is set to move from Sky to Disney+ for Season 3 when it airs in the UK. We don’t yet have a date, other than it is “coming soon”.
The other two renewals, ‘Call Me Kat’ & ‘Welcome to Flatch’, are both remakes of UK series, and neither have aired here.
‘Call Me Kat’, a remake of ‘Miranda’, stars Mayim Bialik as Kat, a 39-year-old single woman who struggles every day against society and her mother to prove that you can not have everything you want yet still be happy.
‘Welcome to Flatch’ is a US remake of the UK mockumentary series ‘This Country’, which follows a documentary crew that sets out to explore the lives of residents in the small American town of Flatch. It stars Holmes, Sam Straley, Sean William Scott, Aya Cash, Justin Linville, Taylor Ortega, and Krystal Smith.
We don’t yet have a premiere date for ‘9-1-1: Lone Star‘ Season 3, but it will now premiere on Disney+ in the UK. If you want to keep track of this or any other show, you can add it via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date.
