On this week’s Geektown Radio podcast, Robert from Entertainment Talk returns to the co-host chair to chat through and review the last seven days on UK TV, film, and gaming, alongside the usual TV news and UK TV air dates.
As Robert is here, things inevitably turn to gaming, so we discuss ‘Grounded‘, a unique base-building and survival game which was recently released out of early access and into 1.0. We also chat about ‘Stranded: Alien Dawn‘, another based-building survival game which has just begun its journey as it enters early access on Wednesday, 12th October 2022, and I had the chance to play a preview version. On the tv side, Robert reviews new Marvel “special presentation” ‘Werewolf by Night’, which landed last week on Disney+, and I talk about the brilliant stand-up special ‘Hasan Minhaj: The King’s Jester’, which landed on Netflix last week.
Over in the TV news, we chat through all the renewals, cancellations (or rather, lack of this week!) and pick-ups. We talk about ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ getting co-ownership in the UK, a new history series from Tony Robinson, and the return of ‘Doctor Who’. We also run through all the big announcements from NYCC including ‘Star Trek’ and ‘The Walking Dead’.
