Stand to attention soldier! Developer Abylight Barcelona has announced that their fun strategy/management/city building game One Military Camp will get its 1.0 release on Thursday, 20th July 2023.
The game has been out in Early Access on Steam since March, and has garnered “Very Positive” reviews already. If you have yet to try it, One Military Camp lets you… as you might expect… build and manage your own military camp, all wrapped in a great sense of humour.
The player manages the economy, recruits the best candidates and trains them to become elite specialists. You can then send them on missions across the land to end the war once and for all. Enjoy a wacky sense of humour full of references to classic movies and video games, with no violence in it. One Military Camp is a game inspired by legendary titles such as Theme Hospital, Anno series or Hogs of War. Other references I would personally include would be the Two Point Hospital/Campus games.
There is a campaign mode and a Sandbox mode, which allows players to start their camps in 6 different biomes, based on 10 maps with unlimited variations. They are able to select game speed, money income, enemies and allies, and different victory conditions.
Early access for the game was already extensive, including the complete single-player campaign with over 100 nonlinear missions, every game mechanic, full customization and three biomes. However, this 1.0 release adds plenty of new content. This means two new biomes (Jungle and Sandy Desert), Twitch integration, Leaderboards, quality of life improvements, visual upgrades and game balancing, all of these of course totally FREE of charge for every early access owner. This update comes after Sandbox, enhanced missions, self-sufficiency mechanics (new buildings and conveyor belts), customization and visual upgrades.
If you want to get One Military Camp 1.0, it releases for PC on Steam and Epic Games on Thursday, 20th July 2023 (console version TBA). It will also have a 30% discount for the first week of release, so worth checking out!
