After an extended summer vacation, we are back with a shiny new episode of the Geektown Radio podcast! This week, I’m joined by Matt from Entertainment Talk to discuss all the latest UK TV news, films, and UK TV air dates, plus gaming, and the SAG-AFTRA Actor’s Strike.
This week, Matt discusses completing Season 1 of the excellent ‘Poker Face‘, starring Natasha Lyonne, which can be found on Sky in the UK. He also has been working his way through both ‘9-1-1‘ and the spin-off, ‘9-1-1: Lone Star‘, both of which are on Disney+ UK, and ‘The Handmaid’s Tale‘, which is on Prime Video. Meanwhile, I chat about the return of ‘The Witcher‘ for Season 3 on Netflix, the brand-new ‘Quantum Leap‘ which is airing on Paramount+, and ‘Foundation‘ which returned to Apple TV+ for Season 2. We also chat a little about the ongoing troubles in Hollywood, with the SAG-AFTRA actors joining the WGA writers on strike.
In the news section, we run through all the renewals, cancellations and pick-ups, which includes all the series which were picked up and dropped whilst we were away. We then run through some of the announcements from the (somewhat downsized) San Diego Comic-Con, and casting for James Gunn’s ‘Superman Legacy’.
