Geektown Radio 399: Harlan Coben’s Shelter, Blue Beetle, Gen V, Wheel of Time TV News & UK Air Dates!

In the latest episode of the Geektown Radio podcast, Darryl from Hollywood North News is back on the show show, as we talk you through the week of TV series, movies, video games, and one of the recent industry-wide strikes coming to an end!

We begin, as always, with the TV & film reviews, and Darryl has been working his way around the various options on streaming and VOD. He kicks off with a review of the martial arts action/comedy movie ‘Polite Society’, out now to buy or rent. He then moves onto ‘Harlan Coben’s Shelter’, which is available on Prime Video, and ‘Wheel Of Time’ Season 2, which is also on Prime Video. He then hops over to ITVX, and the Canadian comedy series ‘Letterkenny’. Meanwhile, (afte some inevitable ‘Starfield’ chat), Dave reviews ‘Ashoka’ before the final episode drops this week on Disney+, alongside talking through catching up on ‘Black Mirror’. We also chat about the DC film ‘Blue Beetle’, also out not to buy/rent, and review the opening three episodes of ‘The Boys’ spin-off, ‘Gen V’.

Moving onto the news, there is one major story dominating the headlines, and that is an end to the WGA Writer’s Strike. We chat about the deal they got, what it means for the SAG-AFTRA actors’ guild who are currently still striking, and what shows are returning to filming (and what aren’t). We also talk through an interesting new pick-up for ITVX, and lots more! Listen below!
