Timothy Olyphant Joins Cast Of Noah Hawley’s ‘Alien’ Series

Timothy Olyphant is the latest actor to tackle deadly Xenomorphs, as the ‘Justified’ star re-teams with his ‘Fargo’ cohort Noah Hawley for his upcoming Alien TV series for FX on Hulu.

Details on the plot of the new series are somewhat limited, however, we do know it is a prequel and set on Earth, way before the events of the original film. The timeframe is supposedly around the late 2090s, which places it decades before we mean Ripley in ‘Alien’.

Sydney Chandler (‘Don’t Worry Darling’, ‘Pistol’) is set to take the lead role of Wendy, who is (according to reports) a hybrid meta-human who has the brain and consciousness of a child but the body of an adult. Olyphant is reportedly playing Kirsh, a synth who acts as her mentor and trainer.

Other announced cast includes Alex Lawther (‘Andor’, ‘The End of the F***ing World’) as CJ, a soldier, Samuel Blenkin (‘The Witcher: Blood Origin’, ‘Peaky Blinders’) as a CEO called Boy Kavalier, Essie Davis (‘Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries’, ‘Game Of Thrones’) as Dame Silvia, Adarsh Gourav (‘The White Tiger’, ‘Extrapolations’) as Slightly, and Kit Young (‘Shadow and Bone’) as Tootles.

Olyphant is just coming off the back of limited revival series ‘Justified: City Primeval’, which saw him return to the role of Raylan Givens. He previously worked with Noah Hawley on Season 4 of ‘Fargo’, and more recently popped up in the Star Wars universe as Cobb Vanth in ‘The Mandalorian’ and ‘The Book of Boba Fett’.

The series is executive produced by Ridley Scott alongside Noah Hawley (‘Legion’, ‘Fargo’) who is writing and directing the drama. Production originally began in Thailand back in July, however, was affected by the actor’s strike. Some scenes were shot with actors working under the UK’s Equity Actor’s Union, but they could only shoot so far without SAG-AFTRA members such as lead, Sydney Chandler. The show is due to return to production in early 2024.

The ‘Alien‘ TV series does not yet have a premiere date but will air on Disney+ in the UK and FX on Hulu in the USA. If you want to keep track of this or any of the shows, you can add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when the next season gets a UK premiere date.
