Prime Video Confirms Which Source Novel Will Be Used For ‘Reacher’ Season 3

Based on the 7th novel in Lee Child's best-selling series

by Dave Elliott

Prime Video has confirmed which novel in Lee Child’s Reacher series will be used as the source material for Season 3 of the drama when it returns.

So far, the drama has jumped around in the novel series rather than following the same order. Season 1 was based on Lee Child’s first Jack Reacher novel, Killing Floor. However, Season 2 jumped to the 11th book in Lee Child’s global best-selling series, Bad Luck and Trouble.

Season 3, currently filming in Toronto, will be based on Persuader, the 7th book in the Jack Reacher series. Reacher witnesses a brutal kidnap attempt and takes the law into his own hands. He must go undercover to rescue an informant held by a haunting foe from his past.

It has also been confirmed that Maria Sten (Swamp Thing) will return to Reacher for Season Three, reprising the role of Frances Neagley, alongside Reacher star Alan Ritchson.

The renewal for the third season of Reacher was announced in December 2023, two weeks before season two premiered on Prime Video. Season Two was the #1 title on Prime Video worldwide across both series and movies in 2023 during its premiere weekend (based on viewership). The series’ global audience grew 50% between seasons in the first three days after the second season’s debut on December 15, 2023.

Based on the novels by Lee Child, who is an executive producer on the series, Reacher stars Alan Ritchson (Fast X, Titans) and is produced by Amazon MGM Studios, Skydance Television, and Paramount Television Studios. Reacher is written for television by Emmy-nominated writer Nick Santora (FUBAR, Prison Break), who also executive produces and serves as showrunner.

In addition to Santora and Child, Ritchson will serve as an executive producer of Season Three, along with Don Granger, Scott Sullivan, Mick Betancourt, and David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Matt Thunell for Skydance. Carolyn Harris and Kenny Madrid are the executives-in-charge of the series for Skydance Television.

Reacher‘ Season 3 does not yet have a premiere date but is likely to land in “Early 2025” on Prime Video worldwide. If you want to keep track of this or any other show, add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when they get a UK premiere date.
