Paramount+ UK Sets March Premiere Date For ‘NCIS: Origins’

by Dave Elliott

Paramount+ has set a March UK premiere date for NCIS: Origins, the prequel series which follows a young Gibbs, played by Austin Stowell.

Set in 1991, years prior to the events of NCIS, the drama follows a young Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Stowell), and is narrated by OG Gibbs, Mark Harmon. In the series, Gibbs starts his career as a newly minted special agent at the fledgling NCIS Camp Pendleton office, where he forges his place on a gritty, ragtag team led by NCIS legend Mike Franks (Kyle Schmid).

“NCIS: Origins has added a brilliant new dimension to the NCIS franchise with an origin story of Leroy Jethro Gibbs and a cinematic ’90s experience that features distinct characters, stories and crime solving,” said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment.

Austin Stowell (Catch 22, Whiplash) takes the lead role as Gibbs, with Kyle Schmid (Big Sky, Six) as Mike Franks, Mariel Molino (The Watchful Eye) as Special Agent Cecilia “Lala” Dominguez, Tyla Abercrumbie (The Chi) as Field Operation Support Officer Mary Jo Hayes, Diany Rodriguez (The Blacklist) as Special Agent Vera Strickland, and Caleb Foote (Made for Love) as Special Agent Bernard “Randy” Randolf. Mark Harmon narrates the show as the older Gibbs.

David J. North, Gina Lucita Monreal, Mark Harmon, and Sean Harmon executive produce the drama for CBS Studios. CBS recently renewed ‘NCIS: Origins’ for a second season alongside the main ‘NCIS’ and ‘NCIS: Sydney’.

NCIS: Origins‘ Season 1 premieres Thursday, 13th March 2025 on Paramount+ UK with the first two episodes, and will then air weekly.
