Trailer Lands For ‘Andor’ Season 2, Premiering April On Disney+

by Dave Elliott

Disney+ has released a new trailer for Season 2 of the critically acclaimed ‘Andor which returns to the streaming service in April 2025.

Rife with political intrigue, danger, tension, and high stakes, the prequel to ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ sets the clock back five years from the events of the film to tell the story of hero, Cassian Andor, and his transformation into a rebel hero on his way to an epic destiny.

While Season 1 followed Cassian’s reluctant journey from cynical nobody to revolutionary volunteer, the long-awaited conclusion in Season 2 will see the characters and their relationships intensify as the horizon of war draws near and Cassian becomes a key player in the Rebel Alliance. Everyone will be tested and, as the stakes rise, the betrayals, sacrifices and conflicting agendas will become profound.

According to creator and executive producer, Tony Gilroy,  this season will follow Cassian’s journey in the four years leading up to the events of Rogue One, with the 12-episode story unfolding in four weekly chapters of three episodes each.

Characters returning this season include, of course, Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), alongside Senator Mon Mothma (Genevieve O’Reilly), Bix Caleen (Adria Arjona), Luthen Rael (Stellan Skarsgård), and Syril Karn (Kyle Soller). It will also bring across characters from ‘Rogue One’, such as K-2SO (Alan Tudyk), Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker), and Director Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn).

Writers this season are Tony Gilroy (Eps. 1-3), Beau Willimon (4-6), Dan Gilroy (7-9) and Tom Bissell (10-12). The directors for the series are Ariel Kleiman (1-6), Janus Metz (7-9) and Alonso Ruizpalacios (10-12). Tony Gilroy executive produces along with Kathleen Kennedy, Sanne Wohlenberg, Diego Luna, Luke Hull and John Gilroy.

Andor‘ Season 2, premieres Wednesday, 23rd April 2025 on Disney+ UK (April 22, on Disney+ USA due to the time difference.)
