Prime Video has released a trailer for ‘Ballard‘, the spin-off from ‘Bosch: Legacy’, which sees Maggie Q star as Detective Renée Ballard.
The series follows Detective Renée Ballard (Maggie Q – Designated Survivor, Nikita), who is tasked with running the LAPD’s new cold case division – a poorly funded, all-volunteer unit with the largest case load in the city. Ballard approaches these frozen-in-time cases with empathy and determination. When she uncovers a larger conspiracy during her investigations, she’ll lean on the assistance of her retired ally, Harry Bosch, to navigate the dangers that threaten both her unit and her life.
The cast for this “new chapter in the world of Bosch” also Michael Mosley (Criminal Minds, Ozark, Castle) as Ted, a reserve officer who has been assigned to cold cases to keep an eye on Ballard; Amy Hill (Magnum P.I.) as Tutu, Ballard’s grandma; Rebecca Field (All Rise) as Colleen, an enthusiastic and eccentric volunteer; Victoria Moroles (Teen Wolf) as Martina, a savvy legal intern; John Carroll Lynch (Big Sky) as Thomas Laffont, Renee’s former partner who un-retires to help her run the Cold Case Department, and Courtney Taylor (Abbott Elementary, Insecure) as Samira Parker, a wary ex-cop who returns to the force at her former mentor Ballard’s behest.
‘Ballard’ is exec produced by Jet Wilkinson (The Chi, The Punisher, Daredevil) alongside Bosch author Michael Connelly, Trish Hofmann, Michael Alaimo, Kendall Sherwood, Henrik Bastin and Melissa Aouate.
‘Ballard‘ does not have an exact premiere date yet, but will air worldwide on Prime Video in Summer 2025. If you want to keep track of this or any other shows, you can add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date.
