Sky has released a trailer for the upcoming limited series ‘Task‘, an intense new seven-part drama from acclaimed creator Brad Ingelsby, best known for the Emmy-winning ‘Mare of Easttown’, starring Mark Ruffalo and Tom Pelphrey, which is set to land in the UK this September.
Set in the working-class suburbs of Philadelphia, ‘Task’ follows an FBI agent (played by Mark Ruffalo, I Know This Much Is True, The Avengers) as he assembles a Task Force to put an end to a series of violent, well-coordinated robberies. However, things take a morally complex turn when the team discovers the heists are being orchestrated by an unsuspecting family man (played by Tom Pelphrey, Ozark, Iron Fist), forcing them to question how far justice should go when desperation meets circumstance.
The series boasts a powerhouse ensemble cast, including Emilia Jones (CODA, Locke & Key), Jamie McShane (Bloodline, Wednesday), Sam Keeley (Kin, 68 Whiskey), Thuso Mbedu (The Underground Railroad, The Woman King), Fabien Frankel (House of the Dragon, The Serpent), Alison Oliver (Conversations with Friends, Saltburn), Raúl Castillo (Looking, Army of the Dead), Silvia Dionicio (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes), Phoebe Fox (The Great, The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death), and Martha Plimpton (Raising Hope, The Good Wife).
Behind the camera, ‘Task’ is helmed by directors Jeremiah Zagar (We the Animals, Hustle) and Salli Richardson-Whitfield (Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty, The Gilded Age), who also serve as executive producers. The series is created, written, and showrun by Brad Ingelsby, with executive producers Mark Roybal and Paul Lee for wiip, Mark Ruffalo, David Crockett, and Ron Schmidt. Co-executive producers include Nicole Jordan-Webber and Jeremy Yaches for Public Record.
‘Task‘ is set to premiere in September 2025 on Sky in the UK and on HBO in the USA. If you want to keep track of this or any other show, you can add it via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date.
