Trailer Drops For Prime Video’s Explosive Action Series ‘Countdown’ Starring Jensen Ackles, Eric Dane & Jessica Camacho

by Dave Elliott

Prime Video has dropped the first trailer for Countdown, its upcoming high-octane action drama from One Chicago and FBI: International creator Derek Haas, starring Jensen Ackles, Eric Dane, and Jessica Camacho.

And yes… while UK viewers are already joking about Ackles “asking for a vowel,” this Countdown has nothing to do with the long-running UK game show. Instead, it’s an explosive race-against-time thriller with global stakes.

The story kicks off when an officer with the Department of Homeland Security is murdered in broad daylight. LAPD detective Mark Meachum (played by Jensen AcklesThe Boys, Supernatural) is pulled into a covert task force alongside agents from various law enforcement agencies. Their mission: hunt down the killer. But what begins as a murder investigation rapidly spirals into a much bigger conspiracy — one that threatens the lives of millions across the city.

Joining Ackles are Eric Dane (Grey’s Anatomy, Euphoria) and Jessica Camacho (The Flash, Watchmen) as key members of the elite team. They’re backed by a strong supporting cast, including Violett Beane (Death and Other Details), Elliot Knight (The Boys), and Uli Latukefu (Young Rock).

The series is created by Derek Haas, known for co-creating NBC’s One Chicago franchise (Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D., Chicago Med) and FBI: International. Countdown also marks the first new series under Haas’s exclusive overall deal with Amazon MGM Studios, and was developed specifically for Jensen Ackles, who has his own first-look deal with the studio.

Countdown‘ is a ten-episode series that will premiere with three episodes on Wednesday, 25th June 2025, exclusively on Prime Video in the UK and over 240 countries and territories worldwide.
