Paramount+ has unveiled the full trailer for Season 3 of its hit series ‘Star Trek: Strange New Worlds‘, giving fans a closer look at what’s in store for Captain Pike and the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise this July.
Picking up where Season 2 left off, the third instalment continues the adventures of the U.S.S. Enterprise under the command of Captain Christopher Pike. The crew are still reeling from their harrowing encounter with the Gorn, but their mission to seek out new life and new civilisations continues. The upcoming season promises a thrilling mix of genres, from romance and mystery to comedy and high-stakes drama, boldly going into new storytelling territory never before seen in a Star Trek series.
Returning cast includes Anson Mount (Hell on Wheels) as Captain Pike, Rebecca Romijn (X-Men) as Una Chin-Riley, Ethan Peck (The Midnight Sky) as Spock, Jess Bush (Playing for Keeps) as Nurse Chapel, Christina Chong (Line of Duty) as La’an Noonien-Singh, Celia Rose Gooding (Jagged Little Pill) as Uhura, Melissa Navia (Billions) as Ortegas, Babs Olusanmokun (Dune) as Dr. M’Benga, and Martin Quinn (Derry Girls) as Scotty.
Season 3 also features a host of guest stars, including Rhys Darby (Our Flag Means Death) as Juno, Patton Oswalt (The Sandman) as Dr. Kandel, Cillian O’Sullivan (The Blacklist) as Harriman, Melanie Scrofano (Wynonna Earp) as Lieutenant Malia, and Carol Kane (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) as Chief Engineer Pelia, with Paul Wesley (The Vampire Diaries) returning as James T. Kirk.
The show is produced by CBS Studios, Secret Hideout, and Roddenberry Entertainment. Akiva Goldsman and Henry Alonso Myers return as co-showrunners, with a production team that includes Alex Kurtzman, Aaron Baiers, Dana Horgan, Alan McElroy, Robbie Thompson, Frank Siracusa, John Weber, Chris Fisher, Rod Roddenberry, Trevor Roth, and lead actor Anson Mount.
To celebrate the new season, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 1 will be available to stream for free between Monday, 30th June and Thursday, 31st July on Pluto TV, as well as across Paramount+ platforms including Amazon, Apple and Roku channels, and the service’s Free Content Hub and YouTube channel.
Season 3 comes on the heels of the show’s official renewal for a fourth season, which is already in production.
Paramount+ continues to be the streaming home for the wider Star Trek franchise, including Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Picard, Star Trek: Lower Decks, the original movie Star Trek: Section 31 starring Michelle Yeoh, and the upcoming series Star Trek: Starfleet Academy.
