‘Sight Unseen’, the gripping Canadian crime drama with a unique twist, is set to make its UK debut on Paramount+ this July, offering a fresh perspective on the genre with a compelling story of resilience, mystery, and unlikely partnership.
The series follows Tess Avery, a top-tier Homicide detective who is forced to walk away from the career she loves after a devastating incident nearly costs her partner’s life — and leads to her being diagnosed as clinically blind. Struggling to adjust and haunted by the cases she left behind, Tess finds a lifeline through an experimental assistance app that connects her with a professional seeing-eye guide 3,000 miles away.
That guide is Sunny Patel, an agoraphobe who never leaves her apartment but sees the world through the eyes of her clients. Guiding Tess remotely via a micro-camera and cell connection, Sunny becomes an unconventional partner in crime-solving. Their bond grows as they challenge preconceptions about trust, ability, and what it means to truly see someone, all while hiding secrets of their own. For Sunny, that includes a violent crime in her past that she’s desperate to solve.
Inspired by one of the co-creators’ personal experiences with sight loss, ‘Sight Unseen’ blends procedural storytelling with character-driven drama, offering thrills and emotional depth in equal measure.
The cast is led by Dolly Lewis, alongside Agam Darshi (DMZ), Daniel Gillies (The Originals), Jarod Joseph (The 100), Tony Giroux (Motherland: Fort Salem), and Roger Cross (Continuum).
Produced by Blink49 Studios and Front Street Pictures in association with Sisters Troubetzkoy Productions for Bell Media’s CTV in Canada, the series is executive produced by John Fawcett (Orphan Black), Karen Troubetzkoy and Nikolijne Troubetzkoy, alongside a team of seasoned producers and creatives.
‘Sight Unseen’ Episodes 1–3 premiere Thursday, 3rd July 2025 on Paramount+ UK, with new episodes releasing weekly.
