A Superhero Summer Lands on ITVX This August with ‘Supergirl’, ‘Krypton’, and ‘DC’s Stargirl’

If you’re looking for some high-flying heroics to power up your summer binge-watching, ITVX is bringing a super lineup of DC superhero action this August. Three epic series from the DC Comics universe — ‘Supergirl‘, ‘Krypton‘, and ‘DC’s Stargirl‘ — will be landing on the platform across the month, all available free to stream. It also marks a UK premiere for the 3rd & final season of ‘Stargirl’.

‘Supergirl’ (All Seasons Streaming from Saturday, 3rd August)

After years of hiding her powers, Kara Zor-El finally embraces her destiny to become the protector of National City in ‘Supergirl’. The series follows Kara as she balances her life as a journalist and a superhero while taking on some of the DC Universe’s most iconic villains.

Starring Melissa Benoist (Glee, Whiplash) as the titular hero, the cast also features Calista Flockhart (Ally McBeal, Brothers & Sisters), Mehcad Brooks (True Blood), Chyler Leigh (Grey’s Anatomy), and Jeremy Jordan (Smash).

This action-packed drama is produced by Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television and ran for six seasons, becoming a fan-favourite entry in the Arrowverse.

‘Krypton’ (All Seasons Streaming from Saturday, 10th August)

Set two generations before Superman’s birth, ‘Krypton’ explores the origins of the House of El and follows Seg-El, Superman’s grandfather, played by Cameron Cuffe (The Halcyon), as he fights to save his planet and secure the legacy of his future grandson.

With appearances from classic characters like Brainiac (played by Blake Ritson, Da Vinci’s Demons) and time-traveller Adam Strange (Shaun Sipos, The Vampire Diaries), ‘Krypton’ blends sci-fi action with rich DC lore.

The series comes from David S. Goyer’s Phantom Four in association with Warner Horizon Scripted Television.

‘DC’s Stargirl’ (All Seasons Streaming from Saturday, 24th August)

Reimagining the legacy of the Justice Society of America, ‘DC’s Stargirl’ follows teenager Courtney Whitmore as she discovers her stepfather’s superhero past and picks up the cosmic staff to inspire a new generation of heroes.

Brec Bassinger (School of Rock) leads the cast, alongside Yvette Monreal (Rambo: Last Blood), Anjelika Washington (Young Sheldon), and Cameron Gellman (Heathers).

This airing on ITVX marks a UK premiere for the 3rd and final season of ‘Stargirl’.

Produced by Berlanti Productions and Mad Ghost Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, the series puts a fresh spin on classic superhero storytelling.
