Xenomorphs Land in London! Disney+ & Natural History Museum Launch ‘Alien: Earth’ Display

by Dave Elliott

Visitors to London’s iconic Natural History Museum are in for an eerie surprise this month, as a brand-new display celebrates the launch of Alien: Earth, the highly anticipated sci-fi series from FX.

From Friday, sci-fi fans can come face-to-face with one of the galaxy’s most infamous lifeforms: a Xenomorph egg, freshly delivered from the world of ‘Alien: Earth’. The exhibit is available to view for a limited time and is located just opposite the entrance to the Museum’s acclaimed space-themed exhibition, Space: Could Life Exist Beyond Earth?

For the first time in the franchise’s terrifying history, ‘Alien: Earth’ brings the Xenomorph to our own planet. Disney+ is marking the occasion in suitably spine-tingling fashion. The exhibit runs from Friday, 9th August until Thursday, 22nd August, offering visitors a close-up look at the first stage in the creature’s chilling life cycle.

The Museum itself is no stranger to life beyond Earth. With over 400 world-leading scientists and 80 million specimens spanning 4.5 billion years, it’s one of the planet’s top scientific institutions. Nestled among Moon rocks, meteorites and Martian dust, the arrival of this not-so-natural egg adds an intriguing sci-fi twist.

Prof Caroline Smith, planetary scientist at the Natural History Museum, says:

“Extraterrestrial life and the secrets of the solar system have forever fascinated humans. It’s a treat to have one of the most iconic depictions of alien life opposite our fantastic exhibition, which reveals the very latest scientific discoveries as it explores the age-old question – are we alone in the universe?”

This isn’t just a photo op. The egg display complements the Museum’s Space exhibition, where visitors can smell planets, touch real fragments of the Moon and Mars, design their own space mission and explore scientific theories on life beyond our solar system.

With the Xenomorph preparing to invade Earth in the new show, perhaps we were safer out in space after all…

‘Alien: Earth’ marks a bold new chapter for the franchise, with the series set to premiere this August. The show sees humanity face the terrifying arrival of the ultimate apex predator on home soil. From the look of the display, we might not be ready.

Alien: Earth‘ Season 1 premieres Wednesday, 13th August 2025, with the first two episodes available to stream on Disney+ in the UK. New episodes drop weekly on Wednesdays.
