ITVX is adding another big hitter to its collection of second-run box sets, and this one comes straight from the Corleones. The ten-episode limited event series ‘The Offer‘, which dramatises the chaotic, brilliant and occasionally downright dangerous making of The Godfather, will be available to stream this October.
Originally running on Paramount+ in the UK, ‘The Offer’ takes viewers behind the curtain of Hollywood in the 1970s, telling the story of how one of the greatest films of all time got made against all odds. The series stars Miles Teller (Top Gun: Maverick) as producer Albert S. Ruddy, Matthew Goode (A Discovery of Witches) as studio exec Robert Evans, Juno Temple (Ted Lasso) as Ruddy’s right-hand woman Bettye McCartt, Giovanni Ribisi (Sneaky Pete) as mob boss Joe Colombo, Dan Fogler (Fantastic Beasts) as Francis Ford Coppola, Burn Gorman (The Expanse) as Charles Bluhdorn, Colin Hanks (A Friend of the Family) as Barry Lapidus, and Patrick Gallo (The Irishman) as writer Mario Puzo.
Behind the scenes, the series was created and written by Oscar and Emmy nominee Michael Tolkin (Escape at Dannemora). Nikki Toscano (Hunters) served as showrunner and executive producer. Executive producers also include two-time Oscar winner Albert S. Ruddy himself (Million Dollar Baby), Teller, Russell Rothberg, Leslie Greif, and Dexter Fletcher (Rocketman), who directed the first block of episodes. The series is produced by Paramount Television Studios and distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
The show does not just retell Hollywood legend, it leans into the chaos of getting The Godfather made in the first place, with studio politics, mob interference, and the sheer stubbornness required to bring Puzo and Coppola’s vision to life. As Ruddy himself might put it, they had to make an offer the studios, the mob, and the audience could not refuse.
‘The Offer’ is only the latest jewel in ITVX’s increasingly stacked acquisitions crown. In recent months the streamer has snapped up ‘Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’ Season 1, every season of the award-winning ‘Damages’, all episodes of ’24’ and its spin-offs, the sci-fi martial arts epic ‘Into the Badlands’, Taylor Sheridan’s ‘Lioness’ Season 1, all four seasons of ‘Roswell, New Mexico’, Kiefer Sutherland’s espionage thriller ‘Rabbit Hole’, plus a whole host of The CW’s Arrowverse superhero series. Whoever is in charge of acquisitions at ITVX surely deserves a pay rise for this run of form.
‘The Offer’ Season 1 premieres Sunday, 12th October 2025 on ITVX in the UK.

Interestingly enough in the person charge of acquisitions leaves next month to head acquisitions for HBO Max UK & Ireland
Clearly should have given them that pay rise! :D
Hopefully, whoever is taking over the role continues their run though, they’ve been doing such a good job on the boxsets.
