Sky’s brilliantly chaotic double act is back, as ‘Rob & Romesh Vs’ returns this December with a fresh batch of outlandish challenges that fling the duo across continents, cultures and comfort zones. It is classic Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan energy, dialled up to international-incident levels, as the BAFTA-winning series lines up Bollywood blockbusters, New York cyphers, rainforest wildlife and even Shakespeare at The Globe.
The new run sees the boys kick things off in Mumbai, trying to break into one of the world’s biggest film industries. Bollywood’s legendary dance numbers await, with stars Ali Fazal (Mirzapur) and Anupam Kher (The Big Sick) attempting to shape Rob and Romesh into something approaching blockbuster material. Whether that’s even physically possible remains to be seen.
From there the series hops to New York for a challenge perfectly tailored to Romesh’s lifelong love of hip hop. The pair meet Wu-Tang heavyweight Raekwon, who guides them toward the ultimate trial of Rom’s nerves: performing in a freestyle cypher in the birthplace of the genre. The cringe potential is astronomical.
Then it is deep into the Sumatran jungle, where the lads attempt to capture a photograph good enough to enter the Natural History Museum’s prestigious Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition. It is a beautiful idea in theory. In practice, it is Rob and Romesh, humidity, wild animals and expensive camera gear, so chaos is inevitable.
Back in London, the duo pivot from mud and mosquitoes to iambic pentameter as they rehearse Romeo & Juliet at Shakespeare’s Globe. With help from Artistic Director Michelle Terry and acting heavyweights Jessie Buckley (Chernobyl) and Martin Freeman (Sherlock), they attempt to bring some Elizabethan gravitas to the stage. Whether the Bard would approve is… uncertain.
The season caps things off with a two-part Winter Sports Special arriving in early 2026. After a year embedded with Team GB, the pair take on everything from curling to bobsleigh, bolstered by Olympic icons Eddie the Eagle and Eve Muirhead, plus 2026 hopefuls Mia Brookes and Team Mouat. The journey spans St Moritz and the World Curling Championships in Canada, meaning both ice and embarrassment are guaranteed.
